The Spartanburg Boys Wrestling team earned a hard-fought 37–33 victory over archrival Gaffney on Tuesday, December 16, in front of an energetic crowd. Viking match winners included Ja’Hari Dawkins, Nasir Lindsay, Landon Viau, Malaki Nesbitt, Devin Purdy, Amir Harris, Samijay Huff, and BJ Sanders. Following the boys’ region win, the Lady Vikings also took to the mat. With both teams dealing with flu-related absences and injuries, matchups were adjusted based on the wrestlers available. The Lady Vikings competed with determination, winning three of the six original matchups. Two additional matches were held, which went in Gaffney’s favor. Match winners for the Lady Vikings were Alivia Rundgren, Dessa Nunez, and Lolo Smith.
