Our Vikings had another great week of competitions with many successful campaigns. Cross Country - Our Vikings competed at the prestigious Wendy's Invitational in Charlotte, NC. In the top division, the Lady Vikings finished 13th out of 34 teams with the top finishers, Elloree Flippin - 5th overall and Ensley Dyar - 14th overall, leading the way. In the top men's division, the Vikings finished 28th out of 33 teams with Chap Wilbanks and Carter Merchant being the leading runners for our team. Football - A combination of the Freshman & JV team defeated Wade Hampton's JV team on Thursday evening 24-20 while the varsity team easily handled the General varsity team on Friday 52 - 0. Golf - The JV & Varsity Lady Vikings had a total of three matches last week where both groups competed well. Swimming - the Viking Swim teams competed at the Region 2-5A Meet on Thursday at the Tyger River YMCA with the men's team finishing 3rd and the women's team finishing 4th. Just a few of the event results were: William Lancaster - Region Champ in the Boys 200 IM with Finn McEnroe finishing 2nd; the Boys Medley Relay finished 2nd; the Boys 200 Freestyle finished 3rd; and the Girls Medley Relay finished 3rd. Special congrats to Anne Camille Elliott, William Lancaster & Finn McEnroe on earning All-Region Honors! Tennis - the JV & Varsity teams both won one match and lost one match on the week with the JV's defeating Dorman but following to Chesnee; and the varsity defeating Boiling Springs but following to Dorman. Volleyball - the JV & Varsity teams continue to improve and compete but dropped both matches last week to region opponents Gaffney & Wade Hampton.
