SHS Athletics had another great week of competitions. Tennis had an undefeated week with the JV Girls knocking off Spartanburg Day and Landrum and the Varsity Girls getting three wins over Wade Hampton, Spartanburg Day & Eastside. Swim finished off their regular season meets with wins over Belton Honea-Path and Easley on Senior Night. The Region 2-5A Meet is this Thursday at the Middle Tyger YMCA. Volleyball continues to improve despite falling in both region matches this past week versus Riverside and Eastside. Varsity Football fell to region foe Gaffney 21-28 on Friday. The Freshman & JV Teams were unable to play Gaffney due to inclement weather on Thursday evening despite two attempts to play. Varsity Girls Golf's only match on Thursday at Meadowbrook GC versus Chesnee was stopped after 4 holes due to lightning. The JV's played well against Chesnee (Monday) and Boiling Springs (Wednesday). Cross Country finished off the week at the Electric City Invitational hosted by TL Hanna and Weststide HS's in grand fashion. Despite two weather delays, the varsity girls finished 1st with a perfect score of 15 having our first 5 runners cross the line first and the varsity boys finishing 2nd. The JV Girls and JV Boys finished in 1st as well in the subvarsity divisions. Good luck to our Vikings this week!
